Tuya energy monitoring: choosing a smart breaker or module
Energy monitoring requires a device that explicitly supports metering. App control alone does not imply a built-in energy meter. When comparing TOMZN breakers or smart modules, check the exact model instead of applying one product’s features to an entire brand.
Power in W versus energy in kWh
Watts describe the rate of energy use at a moment; kilowatt-hours describe energy over time. A constant 1000-watt load running for two hours uses 2 kWh. This is a calculation example, not a typical appliance claim: cycling or variable-power equipment does not draw the same power continuously.
